About me

Hi, I'm Ramya Banda, a Machine Learning Research Technician at Purdue University. I am actively looking for full-time positions in Machine Learning or related areas!

Education

I completed my Masters at Purdue University, with a focus in Machine learning. I've undertaken extensive coursework in this area, and have multiple projects under my belt. Check out my Github to see some of these projects, and some that I pursued on my own!

Professional

I've taken part in multiple internships, ranging from an Image processing start-up named Spiro Solutions PVT LTD to a multi-national conglomerate, Cognizant. My current work involves architecting an ML pipeline to map the neural activity in mice to behavioral patterns using a combination of CNN and RNN. My Linkedin has a complete overview of my professional experiences.

Skills

My course work and professional experience in technical areas have allowed me to grow a specialized skillset, focused on designing and maintaining robust software.

Ideation

The process of brainstorming creative solutions to complex problems is one I can't get enough of. I am organized, disciplined, and an excellent team worker, whether that's remote or in-person!

Programming

I am entirely proficient in Python (Pytorch, Tensorflow, Keras) and C++, and subsequently the core concepts that come with OOP languages. I am also familiar with Matlab, C, Labview, and SQL.

Building End-to-End Pipelines

Oftentimes, machine learning constitutes a link in a much larger chain. I have incorporated ML solutions into projects in Biology, Automotive, and other areas.

Scientific Process

I have first-authored a publication describing a safety monitoring system for underground exercises, complete with real-time tracking via RSSI and alerts to cave-ins, earthquakes, and other underground safety hazards.
